CSAR Cohort Programs
Daniels Scholarship & Success Program
Purpose: To support students graduate within 4 years by connecting them with regular access to resources, fellow peers, leadership opportunities, and assisting them with academics, community enegagement, career preparedness, and job placement.
Benefits: Gatherings with cohort, connection to peer ambassadors, scholarship for up to 4 years
Requirements: Maintain academic performance and sufficient progress to graduate within 4 years

Heidi & Greg Miller Single Parent Cohort Scholarship
Purpose: To support single parents with children under 18 focus on school and minimize childcare costs, as well as prepare them for post-graduation success
Benefits: Tuition support (up to $25,000 per year as a refundable award), renewable each year if requirements are maintained, 1-on-1 support from Student Resource Navigator (SRN), community building with cohort members.
Requirements: Students must maintain at least 9-credit enrollement each semester and GPA of 2.70, attend cohort gatherings, and regular meetings with a financial counselor and career coach.
How to apply: Applications opens in AcademicWorks on December 1 with a primary review deadline of February 28.
Larry H. & Gail Miller Enrichment Scholarship
Purpose: To support first-generation students achieve their first undergraduate degrees and prepare them for post-graduation with community service and leadership experience
Eligibility: First-year students who are the first in their immediate family to attend any amount of college.
Benefits: Tuition and room & board support (full-ride for up to 10 semesters), book stipend, optional mentorship experience and associated stipend (for first-year students), community building with cohort members, 1-on-1 support from Student Resource Navigator (SRN).
Requirements: Students must maintain 12-credit enrollment each semester and GPA of 2.50, attend cohort gatherings, meet with SRN 1-2 times per semester.
How to apply: Application opens in AcademicWorks in mid-November and closes in mid-January.
Operation Success Scholarship
Purpose: Operation Success is a leadership development program led through project development. This program is for students who would like to create change and become strong leaders where they stand. Students in the cohort, a.k.a. Success Fellows, will have the opportunity to identify a disparity within the community, nation, or abroad, and create a project, organization, or business that addresses that need. Success Fellows will be connected to multiple networks in the community as they build their projects, and be able to receive masterclass style insight from experts within the community. At the end of the year, they will be able to present these projects to stakeholders and potential future partners, as they embark one step further towards being the change they want to see in the world.
Benefits: In addition to leadership development, entrepreneurial skills, 1:1 personalized mentorship, and connections to community experts, leaders, and stakeholders, students in the Operation Success cohort will also receive a scholarship of $3000 for the academic year.
Requirements: Sophomore status (at least), good academic standing, demonstrated passion for and commitment to addressing disparities within a community, ability to fulfill time commitment requirements of the program (1 two-hour skill building session per month, 2 one-on-one check-ins per month, and 10 hours per week towards working on their project

Utah Opportunity Scholarship
Purpose: The Utah Opportunity Scholars Program at the University of Utah provides support to first generation college students that demonstratea financial need. The scholarship is offered to first-time, incoming college freshmen (FTIC) that graduated from a Utah high school. The goal is to help students achieve college and personal success through holistic support services via a cohort-based model.
Benefits: Financial support ($8,000 per year for 4 years), academic coaching & workshops, 1-on-1 check-ins with Student Resource Navigator (SRN), community building events, career guidance, and leadership development.
Requirements: Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester; maintain a minimum 2.50 term & cumulative GPA; attend 2 cohort meetings, 1 social, and 1 academic workshop per month each semester; meet once per month with SRN.
How to apply: Application opens in AcademicWorks in mid-November and closes in mid-January. Applicants must include a current resume, 3 letters of recommendation, and response to application prompt.
